Job Summary:

  • Location: Llay Road, Wrexham, LL12
  • Shift Pattern: Mon to Friday 8am – 5pm, moving to 4 on / 4 off shift pattern

As a Plant Operative at Material Evolution's factory in Wrexham, you will play a critical role in supporting the production and operational efficiency of our sustainable cement manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the plant, ensuring the smooth running of production activities, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This role is essential for the successful scaling and commercialisation of our innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the production plant, ensuring all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Monitor production processes and report any issues or inefficiencies to the Head of Manufacturing.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, and movement of raw materials and finished products within the plant.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on products and raw materials, adhering to company quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all health and safety guidelines and reporting any hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Keep accurate records of production data, material usage, and other relevant information.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks and support the maintenance team in more complex repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless operations and support cross-functional projects as needed.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Basic understanding of production processes and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Valid forklift operator certification with experience in operating forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to conduct precise quality checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to identify issues and suggest practical solutions.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience with operating weighbridges and loading tankers would be advantageous
  • Previous experience with operating SCADA systems in a production environment would be advantageous
