Your mission
Join us in solving one of industrial robotics' toughest challenges
R3 Robotics is developing the AI-powered dismantling platform that transforms end-of-life electric vehicle systems into strategic sources of critical materials. As global electrification accelerates, the surge in batteries and e-motors requires automated solutions that manual disassembly cannot provide. We are addressing this industrial bottleneck by enabling the automated dismantling of complex systems at scale through computer vision, artificial intelligence, and specialized robotic tooling.
Following a successful €20M Series A funding round led by HG Ventures and Suma Capital, we are expanding across Europe and preparing for our entry into the United States market in 2026. We partner with major industrial recyclers and automotive OEMs to deliver measurable impact. If you seek to work on advanced robotics within a well-funded organization scaling internationally, this is your opportunity.
Your Role
You will own the human-facing experience across every R3 product, from disassembly line operators to the Battery Disassembly Digital Platform and Fleet Management Portal, so that the people who run our machines do so faster, more safely, and with less training.

Your Responsibilities
Interaction and interface design
- Own the end-to-end design of the operator HMI, DigiOps, and the Fleet Management portal: flows, interaction, interface and design language.
- Design for a safety-critical industrial context: clear state, unambiguous error and recovery, fast recognition under operational pressure.
- Build and maintain a shared design system so all R3 software surfaces are consistent and quick to extend.
- Map operator workflows to ground design in the actual job.
- Define and watch usability measures: time on task, error rate, training time, task completion.
- Test designs with real operators before they ship, and turn learnings into the next iteration.
- Work as one trio with the Product Owner and the SW engineering leads, from problem definition through delivery.
- Bring the usability POV into product decisions early on.
- Partner with SW engineering on practical and fast implementation of the designs.
Your profile
Required qualifications
- 5+ years in product, UX, or interaction design for complex software, ideally B2B, enterprise, industrial, or control-system interfaces.
- A portfolio showing interaction design and interface design for data-rich operational products.
- Strong user-research skills: you test with real users and design from evidence.
- Fluency with modern design tools and the ability to hand off cleanly to SW engineering.
- Experience designing HMIs, dashboards, or operator interfaces for machines, robotics, manufacturing, control systems.
- Familiarity with safety-critical or industrial environments.
- Comfort in a fast-scaling start-up environment where you build the practice as you go.
- Multilingual capability (English required; German and/or French an advantage).
- Deep empathy for the operator and the operating context.
- Designs from evidence, tests early, iterates without ego.
- Clear collaborator with product and engineering.
- Comfortable building structure and standards where none yet exists.
